Trade Specific Denatured Alcohol formulation 1 (TSDA1) is a high-purity ethanol denatured to HMRC’s TSDA1 standard, designed specifically for fragrance work and skin-contact applications. The denaturants used (tertiary butyl alcohol and denatonium benzoate) are odour-neutral and skin-safe, making TSDA1 the preferred grade where IDA’s wood naphtha denaturants would interfere with fragrance or skin compatibility.

  • Ethanol content: 99.9%
  • Denatured with 0.1% tertiary butyl alcohol
  • Denatonium benzoate added at 10 micrograms per millilitre (bittering agent)
  • Density: 0.794 at 20°C
  • Flash point: 12°C, Boiling point: 78°C
  • Appearance: Clear, colourless liquid with characteristic alcoholic odour
  • UN1170, Class 3, Packing Group II

  • Manufacture of skin preparations (perfumes, toiletries, cosmetics and external medical applications such as medicated creams and ointments)

  • Manufacture of hard surface disinfectant cleaners
